At the age of 11, alongside my training in professional rhythmic gymnastics, I began taking classical ballet classes at the Opera Dance Theatre School. Ballet became a passion, and even after moving to Lebanon, I continued training, deepening my love for dance. My path into contemporary dance began at 18 when I joined Sima Dance Company in Beirut. The company was competing in "Arab’s Got Talent", that we won.
This experience ignited my interest in contemporary dance, pushing me to explore classes during my travels and participate in various projects and dance labs. Eventually, I started teaching contemporary dance across the Middle East. In 2018, I auditioned and joined Beirut Contemporary Ballet (BCB). Being part of BCB gave me structured classes and a steady flow of projects, allowing me to grow both technically and artistically. During my time there, I took part in diverse performances, ranging from stage productions to commercial work, while gaining experience in professional settings like stage lighting and camera work. One of the most memorable moments with BCB was contributing to *Trespass*, the company’s first full-evening performance, supported by the Solidarity Fund Switzerland. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, *Trespass* was a three-act production that represented resilience, creativity, and collective expression in uncertain times.
This project was a profound reminder of dance’s power to transform and connect. My journey with BCB ended in 2022, prompted by my relocation and the political situation in Beirut. However, it left a lasting impact, helping me reflect on my growth as a dancer and artist. Lebanon's economic crisis led me to Dubai, where the contemporary dance scene was limited. This reality motivated me to seek opportunities internationally. In 2023-2024, I joined the Descalzinha Danza intensive program in Spain, fully committing to my development as a dancer and choreographer. These diverse experiences have shaped my artistic vision, honing my skills and inspiring me to create a personal movement vocabulary rooted in my unique physicality, experiences, and years of training. Currently, I’m working on my first solo piece, which I plan to adapt into a dance film. As I continue to evolve, I’m excited to deepen my skills and insights through upcoming projects and collaborations. Additionally, I'm developing my own dance system classes to share the diversity and richness of contemporary dance with students worldwide.
